After 19.5 months the awesome "Pirate Radio" is no more.
It has now changed to what sounds like a bunch of 80s songs now branded as "Interstate 96.7" so it looks like this will be some kind of "highway station". I also checked the San Francisco clone KREV and the stream now has it as "92.7 The Hustle" so it is now reflecting 101.3 here.
While it is disappointing I was more surprised that this kind of format was even being done at all. That was such a bold move! It did manage to get a 0.3 at the end of last year but it was a no-show for the first half of this year. The Facebook page had 593 "likes" at last check which doesn't seem like a lot. The Oasis and 94.5 The Pit were the only local stations with fewer followers that I found. Fortunately KUNM still has Sub-Sequence on Sundays 1-3am (also heard on the station 2 week archive) and there is also that Thursday night show from 10p-1a which has been more ambient lately.
Good while it lasted!
