96.7 on air

Today, I heard classic country on 96.7 with no station ID. Anyone know anything?

Both 93.5 and 96.7 are on the same tower. I am betting that since NAB is in town, they are demonstrating the coverage and trying to find a new owner.

You mean 94.5 right? In a conversation I had with Mike O at KVBE, I was complaining about what he did to Vibe's format back in July 2010, and he said it was "either this or classic country", so I find that to be rather interesting. Aurora Media and LKCM are very closely related, and both KVBE and KHIJ are going to be the new full time Jelli formats. 94.5 is going to be Pop and 96.7 is going to be Rock.

Nope. I was referring to 93.5 KADD. It's on the same tower as 96.7 KHIJ and 94.5 KVBE.

Ah, I didn't even know that was there. I guess that would make sense that they're putting more stations on that tower out there. It cost Aurora $14,000 per month to keep KVBE out there. There are no power lines out to that tower, it's completely diesel powered. They have semi-trucks drop off the barrels of fuel every so often, and the farmer who owns the land up there takes it up to the tower and pours it in.

I've tried to drive up to that tower twice, and it's a terrible road. The first time I blew out a tire on my Mustang (probably wasn't a good idea in the first place), and drove back to Big O in Mesquite on my spare. (Don't ever go there, they'll tell you all sorts of things are wrong with your car when they're actually not) ... The second time I tried to take my Mountaineer up there, got a bit further than the first time, but I turned back because it's not the kind of road you want to be on unless you have off road tires and 4 wheel drive.
