96.7 WTOS

it is, but it is also simulcasted on 96.7, and as far as I can tell there's no power increase, probably just cleaned up the technical issues. 96.7 has sounded awful on the technical end off and on for a few years.

All the way to the NH border is long enough to hear 7 Nickelback songs, 3 plays of "Only in Hollywood" by Saving Abel and 11 combined songs from Theory of a Deadman, Shinedown and Puddle of Mudd. ;D

sounds like TOS to me....imagine how much you'd hear if you went from one end of the signal (wherever 101.1 dies downeast, all the way to the northeast kingdom of vermont)

101.1, WTUX Gouldsboro, and 96.7 WTQX Boothbay Harbor are both simulcasts of WTOS.
Both have pretty good signals.

The last few days have been really good FM conditions though, so I bet you were hearing that, which made it sound stronger.

Jamie, where are you buddy ? With a thread on TOS' and talk of the NEK and you haven't chimed in ? It's just not the same ;)

96.7 all the way to the NH border??? I would think 96.7 in Rochester would have killed the Maine signal around York/Saco...

They get to Machias, quite well. Checked out their tower the other day off Route 186 in Gouldsboro. The older 12 bay antenna is gone, Now there's a New 8 bay antenna which looks like it is split in half; 4bays on top and 4 on bottom; plus 3 separate smaller antennas mounted about a third-of-the-way up the tower.

Hello!!!! :)
I have Been trying so hard to graduate from WCSU in Danbury CT with a Bachellors degree in Communications in Dec. I have been trying so hard to get a radio Job that I have not posted on R-I much because it has gotten me into a bit of trouble I'm sorry to hear about the Quiet LR at LSC, the students have asked me to step in and run the station but the administration has said no... I have a weekly show on the (listen online) http://wxci.org fridays 3-7 (well really 2-8 lol). I have had an Internship in Promotions with Cumulous of Danbury CT this summer and am trying for COX of Norwalk Ct and 101.9 WRXP with Emmis for a fall internship in promotions for NYC for the fall. I really miss my Tom-O and Mr. Mike in the Morning and I am glad the 105.1 Signal has been pretty good while I am up in the NEK Mountain Biking and helping out Trout River with the brewry and a few Festivals. (dan CEO really misses my radio show). I really hope Blueberry will get a stream going or a LP FM for VT lol. as much as I like CCC in CT, Tom-O and Mr. Mike know how to do a morning radio show.

I am also on Facebook

WTOS has no web presence anywhere, outside of a Facebook page for Homegrown. Sad.

Here's the WTOS website.
http://www.wtosfm.com/

Right. Outside of the advertisement, it hasn't changed since Day 1. It's essentially a never-changing billboard. I don't really consider that a web presence, especially considering the former, pre-Blueberry website that was constantly updated, as well as featured streaming. Not good streaming, but (slightly) better than no streaming.

I was in Portland for the 1st time visiting a friend. I noticed you have a lot of trouble getting WTQX in the Portland area because of 96.9 W245AA (WTHT). It is unlistenable while moving around driving however, you can get it stationary and as soon as you get out of the City of Portland area heading towards Freeport or heading to South Portland...
