96.7fM

I am not in New York, so I can't check. Does anybody know what 96.7FM is? I know it comes in Brooklyn but not Long Island. Any Idea on what this station can be?

It's not a LPFM it's a pirate. There's 2 pirates on the 96.7 frequency in Brooklyn. One is a Caribbean pirate that has been on the air for 5 years. And the other pirate is a Russian/Jewish pirate on 24/7 except for the Jewish holidays and Saturday. They are very strong. You can even hear them in Jersey.

hypothetically speaking, "someone" wanted to start a pirate, and it had EDITED music, caused NO interference whatsoever, was decently strong, but not enough to interfere with anything, would the FCC even bother with it?

Well to answer your question. The FCC wont touch you. We have over 25 pirates on the air on the weekend for years and nothing has happened to these guys.

So that's crazy. It's a pirate. Why hasn't the FCC really broken down their doors. I'm sure the company who broadcasts plays commercials, etc. Probably making a nice profit.

There's a licensed 96.7 in Stamford, CT that does come in on Long Island, and there are many pirates on 96.7. The 96.7 from Stamford would come in easily in New York City if there were no pirates. The FCC isn't doing anything about the pirate stations.
