96.9 shuffling the deck chairs

Meehan 12 - 2 is OK. Takeen in small doces mid day is acceptable. Forget Smerk in that slot. Get someone local. J & M have to go. They are pathetic on every level.
 
This new lineup really screws up my normal listening day of:

...now I'm going to have to choose between Howie Carr AND Jay Severin AND Michael Graham?!? Ughhh.....

I wish Michael Graham would be kept where he is! :( His show I look forward to more than anyone else's because it's always interesting, funny, and his back-and-forth with Thom Shattuck is great!!!

J&M are under contract till at least 2013 I think; RKO coveted them supposedly. I guess they have a following (my sister loves them, for one)

Did I call this one, or what? It was only a matter of time before The Blaze threw her former WPHT colleague a bone and cleared his syndicated show live in Boston.

OMG NO WAY!! Does anyone remember the car crash that was Graham when he did four hour shows in the past?? He was BRUTAL! He was so awful, he HAD to resort to name-calling AT the listeners in order to get angry calls because he couldn't get regular call-ins??

Like I've said back then, Graham in three hour doeses are bad enough but tolerable. Giving Graham that extra hour turns him into that angry school yard 12-year old. Horrendous decision that will prove bad in the end. Meehan was boring-and-bland topic tolerable but I think reducing him to two hours is a mistake.

Granted, having J&M on at ALL is a mistake but Wolfe and Kahn have made horrendous decisions for years and still have jobs. If it's broke and you get promoted, why fix it?

Umm. Graham has had a 4 hour show for a long time. 10am to 2pm.
 
96.9 should become Boston's first FM NEWS station. And not the version in NYC of "FM NEWS" right now, but all news all the time. WBZ stops the news in the evening, and also the traffic reports. A real FM all newser, doing it around the clock, could unseat WBZ.

There's enough talk in the market. The ratings are crap for 96.9 anyway.
 
Would it be costly for them to do? btw people like Graham and Eagan & Braude are under contracts; not sure if they could be broken. Perhaps if they went all news they could do a hybrid morning show with a Hank Morse doing some headlines, then E&B talk about it, but that wouldn't be pure news.

Well, TalkRadio is rolling out a 24 hr. news network, albeit, piecemeal.
 
No no!! NOT a network! LOCAL news! Boston news, new England news etc. There's enough yapping on the dial, give me the damn local news, traffic and weather round the clock.
