967 the legend.

Seems like that the legend is hanging in the so far. They seem to have a small budget and have 2 djs during the day. They place some good music.....

Doesn't matter, good music or not, it's still owned by Clear Channel. therefore the 2 dj's on there MUST be unhappy because it's a bad place to work, therefore, it's bad radio. And also Kicks beats them hands down.

I still think that CC ought to move WGST to 94.9, move Legend to 640, sell 96.7 to Davis so they can trimulcast La Raza, and do something else with 105.3 (or put Legend on that).

I remember even in week one of the format flip, traffic was introduced I think as "Legendary" traffic. Yes legendary indeed. Makes me hearken back to 1962 when the Georgia Association of Broadcasters awarded 96.7 "Best" in the category of traffic reports. Yes that proud legendary patriotic tradition, crafted with pride in America, handed down from father to son, from generation to generation .... endures even to this very day in Art “Mad Man” Merring's traffic reports on 96.7 The Legend. Kinda brings a tear to my eye. Thank you Clear Channel for continuing to imbue those very qualities into 96.7 that have made it "The Legend".

Moving WGST to 105.3 may be a better choice than to move it to 94.9. Having WGST on 94.9 might be a waste of radio frequency knowing how powerful the signal of 94.9 is. Plus, they will never surpass the accolades and ratings of WSB AM. Oh wait, 94.9 is already a complete waste of radio frequency because WUBL is on, so I guess it doesn't matter if WGST was moved to 94.9.

I'm curious what makes WUBL the worst sounding station on the air? The Music, personalities, imaging, what? Can't seem to put my finger on why everyone says it sounds so bad?

I say move Viva to 105.3 and simulcast WGST on 96.7 and 105.7 giving good coverage on both the North and Sout sides of town. Put Peach 94 back where it belongs. Only flaw here is though B98 gets a whole lot better next month so bringing Peach back it will be hard to compete with out a good morning show.

Victor had said when WUBL went Country something to the effect of "We are for the most part playing the same songs, this battle is going to be won by what happens in between the music".

"real comfy country"

5 or 6 dead segs an hour
jocks that sound like they have a card in front of them with + zero personality - whether by instruction or natrually - mix in their changes in mornings.
----

Take three great top 40/ Hot AC songs

Put imaging from Q100 between all of them
then Put imaging from Star btwn all three
B98
Then Old Peach or Lite

You can go from feeling like you are hip to hanging out at the dentist office really quick. For Country Kicks is Hip and The Bull is the dentist office.

I heard a few minutes yesterday afternoon and it sounded great...and I mean non cookie-cutter. The guy on the air sounded like a real guy and he wasn't reading liners. And you can't beat some of those country classics.

cc has no idea how to program country radio, john hogan was spotted with atlanta people in texas, it will all be over soon ,look for a hot ac on wbul

105.7 gets good coverage of Gwinnett. 105.3 does not. Gwinnett is a hotbed for Hispanics, so I expect 105.7 to stay Spanish if at least 1 CC station does.

But I have to agree that simulcasting WGST on 105.7 would really help the station.

Its quite true, Gwinnett is a hotbed for hispanics... We lost our only licenced frequency's to those DAMN formats.. So we had to make the best of what we had left.. NOTHING.. Welcome to Gwinexico... We just love it here.. Want local news in Gwinnett, Or want to hear local community news in Gwinnett? You aint gonna get it... Unless you understand Spanish.

Don't forget, there's WISK moving to Larryville (http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/info?call=WISK&service=AM). Although Gwinnett desperately needs a full-service station of its own, it'll probably go Latino or Korean.

Also, someone needs to see if WIMO can be moved into Gwinnett proper and/or powered up (right now, it city-grades Harbins with all of its 650W daytime and that's about it in Gwinco). Supposedly, just $75K for P/P/E and license, rumor has it.

For the most part, I dig the format. Chris East, the morning guy, is doing a bang up job. He was morning guy and trading post host at WCOH AM 1400 in Newnan. He was a fan favorite for the 10 or 11 years he was on air at the station. Honestly, CC in Atlanta needs to urn him loose on the programming for The Legend. When he was PD of WCOH (which is a Classic Country Station), Chris did a bang up job of programming and expanding the library. For a couple of months, WCOH was beating Kicks in Coweta County.
