96rock: The Triangle's Classic Rock Station

WBBB has officially dropped the ETR moniker that they have been using since mid 2006, and they now call themselves The Triangle's Classic Rock Station. I like how they have kept their younger listeners by still playing alot of '90s rock. I guess you can say that after 4 years the torch has been passed from RDU to BBB. They play a harder style of Classic Rock than the River. What do you guys think of this minor tweak of the format?

I like them. I'm on the older end of their target, though. I don't think the average
listener cares what a station calls themselves (classic rock or whatever), just that they
like music and presentation. 96 is doing pretty well in the ratings.

;D I don't know anyone that listens to commerical radio anymore! Everyone I know either has Sirus or CD's in the car! Wonder where all the PPMs actually come from???

I hear Blade's 3:00 Threesome picking up the kids at school. Other than that, I scan by it sometimes. At least in the afternoon, I notice more obscure-sounding hits than usual. That's probably some of Blade's input on things.

The Triangle's Classic Rock Station is probably a more recognizable, long-term moniker than ETR, which seems to have been more of a flash in the pan kind of thing.

If they would just go to "The Home of Rock and Roll" and get Reynolds and Silva in the afternoons, then all their problems would be solved. :D
