97.1 FM country legends

I have stated this multiple times in this thread, but here goes again...

When associated with a license transfer, the call letter change DOES NOT take effect until the sale closes. At this moment it is still KTHT. If EMF takes over at 5pm it becomes KLVH then. If EMF takes over next week, the call change becomes official then. If it happens a year from now, the call change becomes official then...
Yes. But if you go into LMS and do a facility search this morning it comes up as KLVH.

TOHID at 8am still KTHT. Call change to KLVH had been authorized for 10/31, presumably will happen with the actual flip.

Edit to add: Appears CL has thrown the playlist wide open, spinning the entire music library. Also not hearing any host talent or voice tracking so far this morning. Traffic reports still running.
When I was tuned in earlier, just a liner between songs. Definitely sounds like the end is in sight. The wide open playlist is quite nice, hopefully they continue this post-flip and the format solely lives on the HD2.

Spoke too soon, heard a VT a few minutes ago. Spot load is also extremely low, they just ran the "high definition" message from Scott Sparks, a Kroger ad, then back into music.

I'm not sure if there's a time when EMF typically does format changes, but KHJK flipped to Air1 at 5PM. The host on Air1 at the time had been talking up the addition of the Houston signal on the national network leading up to the flip that afternoon.

Back then, adding a large market signal was probably a big deal for them. It's pretty routine these days.

I don't think there's a typical time. EMF typically flips as soon as it gets the keys, though that's sometimes negotiated and agreed upon in advance with the previous operator. I seem to remember 97.3 in Kansas City flipped at midnight. Seems like KLRQ 96.1 went silent for a few hours before flipping.

If emf has the keys now, what’s stopping them from flipping in the next hour?

KRTY (Los Gatos-San Jose) flipped at 9 am, very obviously through the cooperation of the previous owners and EMF to allow one final edition of the KRTY morning show to say farewell to listeners.

It's funny he says the audio is amazing but it's not. They really need to work on it to sound better.

At 5PM and Country Legends is still on. Their HD is off but still has song info on RDS

It's awesome if you're listening through the Kraco speakers in that van lol

But in my '22 F-150 with 18-speaker Bang and Olufsen system, it sounds like some pirated LimeWire MP3s!

The “high definition” carrier is back on 97.1.

The playlist over the past hour or so keeps making me think the switch is about to happen, then I remembered that 80’s and 90’s country is full of songs about the end of relationships. 😂
