97.1 FM country legends

Welp, missed most of it while in the grocery store, but caught the tail end of the last song (Marty Robbins - Some Memories Just Won’t Die, a fitting tune!) before the abrupt cut into K-LOVE. Sounds like they’re tweaking the audio chain, but sounds good so far.

Well I missed it. Saw the HD came back with Country Legends text but that was silent. RDS changed to K-LOVE RT & PS and PTY is Adult Hits. PI code is still KTHT

Even though they spent a lot of time promoting 92.9 HD2, I do still wish they had been more direct about leaving 97.1 and when they would be doing it. If I’m not mistaken, they only actually said they wouldn’t be on 97.1 anymore today, and even then they were indirect in their wording (until after it already happened). Not the worst way to handle a format flip, but definitely not a good way either.

Did the flip happen at 6:05pm? I had just gotten back in my car and immediately turned on 97.1. Heard a Country tune that was abruptly cut off a few seconds later, with about a dozen seconds of silence. I thought it might be another of the frequent dropouts that have been happening lately on Country Legends, but then K-Love came up in the middle of a song. No acknowledgment of the Houston addition by their air talent, though.

TOHID at 8pm was rather weird, still had KTHT, and also added “105.3 Beaumont” but no KLTW call for that. Perhaps 97.1 is being fed from KLTW until it gets its own downlink?

Last song started right after 6 (Marty Robbins - Some Memories Just Won’t Die), about 10-15 seconds of dead air followed by K-Love getting potted up at full volume halfway through "Praise You Anywhere" by Brandon Lake, with several volume adjustments throughout the song.

That was the fastest I ever seen radio locator update something on them.
