97.1 seems to be done with "Free FM"

They dropped it from their legal ID a while back, but kept it for tags and quick hits. This afternoon during Leykis, they started using a new one that is simply "97.1 FM Talk"

will they finally drop FREE all together? or will they continue propping up the corpse of Hollander's failed experiment in their 971FreeFM.com web address?

I hope they drop some of their bad programming! The weekends suck!

But they probably make alot of money from those "infomercials..."

I am sure they do, but their weekend ratings suck, so it's a win-lose. They've had a few good shows, but they move stuff around too much. The food dude Schindler is fun, as was the car show and a few of the real estate shows are pretty informative, but the medical crap and vitamin shows are unlistenable, so that is why their ratings tank. Leo Quinones and Sam Philips are ratings death and the crap they play Friday nights are pretty bad too. Really, 7p-6a is pretty bad all week. I am finding myself listening less and less, and it has always been my favorite station. With Sirius and Internet radio, I am finding better stuff all the time.
