97.1 The Eagle's big announcement

They're flipping format?? Maybe they're tossing Russ Martin out on his butt..
 
They're using the national voice guy for promotion, and just heard one of Nikki Sixx's lackeys mention it, so I am going to take a stab in the dark and say Nikki Sixx is going to be doing mornings. Bleh.
 
First Lex & Terry, who are pretty decent guys, then Russ the d-bag, now nikki sixx...I thought this station was supposed to flip awhile back to alt country/red dirt..
 
Perhaps an announcement about the iHeart fest this year. That's what all the other CC stations have done, albeit a little earlier than now.
 
As long as they're continuing to make awful programming decisions, I'll bet they're foolish enough to try and edit Sixx's nighttime show and force it into morning drive as a replay from the previous night. There's no way KEGL has the budget to pay Sixx for weekdays, so they're stuck with the VT'ed nighttime program. Hey I have a great Idea, let's get Nikki to give us some reads like we did with Chloe Kardashian (gag), and we can trick the publick that Nikki is live in the Eagle Studio driving Texan's to work.

They'll dub in the word MORNING for every time Nikki says night. It'll be magical.

As I understand it, Sixx is live in the mornungs and the show is cut up to run at night with some affiliate hits that are canned when the show is taped.

Umm, I take it you haven't actually heard any of the promos for the big announcement tomorrow... "Waking up will suck a little less" and "How about some attitude with your coffee?" - obviously it's a change in the AM drive slot, and not a concert or event announcement.

The Sixx Sense moves to mornings starting May 7th, they just announced it.
 
Guessing this is a move for a different game. KEGL couldn't win with L&T or RMS more music was a bump up. Who owns the syndication for the Nikki show and how are they tied to Clear Channel? If they are making money off of the show, then yeah - Slap him on that piece of S stick in Dallas then he has a Top 5 Market added to the promotional material they use to get others to sign the show up.

So does Cindy go back to middays and Chris vt nights?

Is this the move that pull so many people to the station that KEGL comes out of the TOP 20 in the 6+ parade?
 
Are his ratings good enough at night to make him attractive in the mornings? How is this going to work?
 
I remember when Nikki started. The show sucked. Its not great now, but who else could they use to book big guests for the morning? What we have witnessed is Clear Channel training someone on a national scale at nights, in prep for taking over mornings.
