Dan Kearney, the temporary PD, says he should have a new PD in the house within the next couple of weeks and that PD wlll also do afternoon drivetime. That person will then hire a morning person. They have plans to add a mid-day personality because in other markets, they do well with just music in that time slot although they have the budget for it. So it'll be very much like how 102.5 does it.

Did you mean to say they have NO plans to add a mid-day host?

I think I can speak for Rodney on this one..
The plan on addidng a midday person, even though in other markets they have been successful without one. I don't get having the PD double as the afternoon host. Why not get a solid afternoon jock, who's whole focus is his/her air shift, and have your PD trac nights?

On his AJC radio blog he says they will not add a mid-day host. The Buzz does the same thing with Chris williams doing the afternoon shift. My guess is he works afternoons and as it grows he then hires a true afternoon person. I nominate Bob Bailey. Bring back the Traffic Jam and Jokes.
