97.3 AMP Radio?

With the LA board getting all of the attention right now with their 97.1 AMP Radio,
I thought we should get in on the guessing game, if SF will get AMP'ed!

Since CBS jumped on The MOViN wagon and blew up 99.7 KFRC.
Then they destroyed 97.1fm Talk, for AMP. It seems their nature to
do such a thing.

But isn't "AMP" a CHR format, and isn't that what MOViN 997 (no point) is becoming?

Nope...I don't see it happening...I already tried checking < http://ampradio973.com/ >,
and < http://973ampradio.com/ >, both being non-existent...

I did these website checks after reading that CBS has registered http://ampradio1051.com/ ,
yet there are only two CBS O&O stations at that frequency: Sacramento and Orlando, and
it's a topic well-discussed on the Sacto board...

It's believed with KNCI 105.1 doing extremely well, Orlando would likely "Amp" up from its
present "Mix"...

Either that, or CBS is pulling a Citadel, as Citadel did with < http://www.kgofm.com >...

Hey, LK!! You may be onto something - I found a website that is NOT showing an error message per se
like the sites I tried for 97.3!...

This site says "Coming Soon":
http://997ampradio.com/

OR?????.... {see the last sentence in the above response to 1069_KIFR's earlier post}

The WHOIS info on it shows it was registered on Feb. 18, 2009, but it's a blind registration -- the actual owner's name doesn't show up in the record.

It's still "parked" on a Register.com server, meaning that whomever bought the domain hasn't moved it to their own server yet. I think CBS generally uses their own CBSIG.NET-series nameservers, so one possible clue might come when and if the nameservers are changed.

...Or if Nancy Pelosi shows up on the Movin 997 morning show to announce that the station is switching its transmitter to solar power. (Only funny if you followed the KGO-FM* website spoof.)
