97.3 "Everything Alternative" Cincinnati bites it

frontier.cincinnati.com/blogs/tv

This makes me angry. Ever since Howard Stern left back in December they retooled their format. Before, they were more nu-metal and crap like that, but after some retooling they started playing better stuff. I've heard bands like The Clash, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, OK Go, Death Cab For Cutie, and other good stuff on there. The new owners will put a country format on the 97.3 frequency and put a "modern rock" format on another frequency that I'm sure will suck if it's anything like the other "alternative" stations owned by the same company.

Give Entercom credit..they are the only big corporation that is trying to keep alternative radio alive. It may not be the greatest station, but CC, Cumulus or even CBS (if they kept it) would have dropped alternative all together. At least Entercom is trying.

I have to agree. At a time where alternative stations are struggling, and other companies are pulling the plug on their alt stations, or pushing them in an active rock direction, Entercom seems to be making every effor tto help their alternative stations around the country succeed.
