97.3 radio now

I just want to say I like 97.3 radio now more then the brew I didn't care for the brew I can't wait to see what my father and mother would do about it they won't listen to it specially my father I wonder what some of those people say now that the brew changed to top40 because I don't really care what they say about 97.3 because I was mad when hot 102.1 went new rock

I don't think the former listeners will be too upset because they have several fairly similar stations to choose from.

What's interesting is that there are now several BREW stations across the country. Yet now the original, the one that started it all, no longer exists.

You are so wrong but entitled to your own opinion. The Brew was the best sounding station in the market. I didn't like it at first but then it grew on me. I will especially miss listening to it in the shower lol.

To be honest, I'm also liking this station as well, they're actually sounding pretty good. Hopefully Clear Channel doesn't ruin it by putting syndicated dump on it, but knowing them, I know they will.

Does 97.3 Radio Now have a rhythmic lean to it? If so, does V100 adjust their sound as well to minimize overlap?

From what Sean Ross said it sounds like this station has a pop lean. Not only does this minimize overlap with V100, there is more of a hole for it since WXSS leans rhythmic.

More like a Adult-lean, positioned between WXSS and WMYX.

The only songs that are really being ignored are the urban ones....but I don't think that really matters all that much because not only are there not that many urban songs in the Mainstream Top 40 right now, but the ones that are are falling out of the Top 40.

I think this station sounds the way that a true Top 40 will sound in about a year if CHRs continue to shy away from urban songs

Given that they own V100, I wouldn't have expected much Urban product on Radio Now in the first place. You don't want to steal from yourself.

They have their new calls now, WRNW, which were the first calls for WXPK in suburban New York (where a certain Howard Stern had his first radio job, it turns out).

Thank goodness that Clear Channel found some sane call letters for once; I'm over the whole "A Q equals an O and nobody notices the difference" thing with Milwaukee call letters lately. It makes whoever digs up open calls in the FCC database for their corporate overloads seem incredibly lazy ::).

Who can forget his manager at that station, Moti?

"Disc jockeys are like dogs. Your job is to make them fetch."

Meanwhile, Dave Adams has fetched the PD position at the new "Radio Now 97.3":

In an odd arrangement, the article also says Adams will "split the midday shift with a voicetracked Jackson Blue." Does this mean Adams is just going to host an "all-request lunch hour"?
