97.3 Wolf

The past couple of nights, 97.3 the wolf has been off the air after about 9PM. Could it have something to do with not being able to carry Yankees games?

Brian Jones said earlier that 106.1 was carrying the Yankees game too. Interesting.

97.3 does indeed go off the air when the Yankees are on. You would think if Cumulus, can’t simulcast the games on WZAD they could provide it with some alternative programming, not just shut it down. Also, why put the games on 106.1, which normally simulcasts WPDH instead of 97.3. I wonder how long they plan to keep this up. It makes no sense. Chucky, this is more of your no prior planning bumbling. Perhaps running a cluster is too much for you!

Did you ever think that WZAD is prohibited from carrying the yankees, because they are already protected on other stations? Then it makes good sense to put it on 106.1 - you already have the resource, and there are no stations in Sullivan County playing them...

He may have thought of that, but there still should be alternative programming on WZAD.

You know what they could do, while 94.3 airs the Yankees, 97.3 can continue with the wolf programming. I wonder if they ever thought of that...

Duh (not directed to you mart)

When Fox 96.7 airs Yankees games, Fox 103.1 continues regular programming.

Are you that dumb Chuck?

What type of technical limitations are you talking about? When Fox 96.7 airs Yankees games, Fox 103.1 manages to play regular programming.

Yes I did consider that another station could have the rights in the area, however, since there is considerable overlap between WZAD 97.3 &WPDA 106.1 so I don’t know who it could be. My main point was that WZAD was simply going off the air instead of continuing the WOLF format. There may have been technical reasons but Chucky should have fixed that before the season started. Anyway, it’s now a moot point WAZD now stays on the air playing country music, when the Yankees are on.
