i understand 97.5 is turning into jazz, however, is the hawk moving to a new frequency, or are they gone for good?

i'll miss their morning show. i guess it's the end of "Free Beer and Hot Wings" in Philly.

not neccesserely,

105.7 the hawk has the free beer and hotwings show...

il'l miss 97.5, who else has 20 song music marathons at 9,12,&5

or has tripple shot thursday

or get the led out

or the 10 o clock rock block

or the firecracker 500 every 4th of july

or A-Z at christmas

no classic rock station beats the hawk...the only station that can even come close is 93.3 WMMR which plays both modern rock and classic rock (which will move to my NO.1 preset as of the 15TH of November)

I agree, the HAWK was the best station in the tri-state area. They were my number one station here in Newark, DE, they had a good signal and were so much better than RDX. Its a no brainer, its going to be just another station in the Philly market jumping on the bandwagon, with a Black artist playlist, nothing exciting or unusual.

The Hawk in some form could turn up on 94.5 WPST HD2. The only other way to keep the Hawk is if Nassau could buy WAWZ 99.1 or WMGQ 98.3 but I don't think they are for sale. I Don't think they would put it on ESPN 920 or WCHR 1040 AM.

It's a shame to see The Hawk go away. I enjoyed listening to the station, while driving through New Jersey. I would find myself listening to The Hawk, before tuning into WMMR or WYSP. I used to listen to WYSP alot more, before this "Free FM" crapola took over the airwaves. After that happened, I was finding myself listening to The Hawk a bit more. While jazz fans are pleased, the classic rock audience will have to find another outlet to listen to. It's the way the cookie crumbles I guess.

a black artist playlist? WHY oh why.,. does someone on here ALWAYS have to pull the race card when they're talking about something THEY DON'T LIKE??

Methinks he who runs with scissors lost his login information...

It's getting ridiculous. And, not all jazz artists are black.

Idiots!

But on the subject, the Hawk was a good station and will be missed, but it will be interesting when WJJZ is resurrected from the radio grave!

what they should have done, if their getting rid of the hawk, was move PST back up to 97.5 b/c they have some potential, and 97.5 has a better signal than 94.5

and put wjjz on 94.5

they should have used 1 of the 3 damn rap stations to put jazz on (98.9 preferably, or the beat)i hate them so much...
wired is the other one, but i can deal with that, as well as the 3 top-40 stations (pst, wstw, and q102) those have potential too

i can say, there are a lot of pissed off rock fans around, being that 97.5 kicks 102.9's ass...even though its ok too...i think 93.3 is gonna move from #2 to #1 on my presets after the hawk goes

I say can WMGK and keep The Hawk, replace MGK completely, jocks, playlist, etc. They suck!!! When I travel up to the Philly area I listen to these guys. I feel sorry for you listeners of The Hawk for losing this good station.

My condolences go out to you. Good luck finding the music you like. I would hate it if I lost my favorite station!!

Do I hear "Free Hot Wings And Beer" show on 102.9? Hope so!!!

Me thinks you are DEAD WRONG, try again, you narrow minded "A" clowns always connect me with anti-black jargon, everyone does not embrace black music like you people do, its called enjoying variety programming, can you dig it.......

oh yea, the hawk is way better

MGK has to many shitty (sorry if i cant curse im new here, just tell me if i cant) programs

breakfast w/ the beatles, not too great, i like the beatles but not 3 hours of it

saturday morning 60's, it should play more good 60's music

however its good that they do the memorial weekend 500 countdown, and the rolling stones block is ok...

but i like get the led out on the hawk better

mgk is ok but the hawk is great

Funny, I had that same idea (can 'MGK, move the Hawk to 102.9). The Trenton Hawk is clearly the best of the three, although the ManaHAWKin Hawk (105.7 WCHR-FM) has improved somewhat.

Hey, Greater Media! Sounds like a way to rejuvenate a tired frequency. 102.9 The Hawk, Number 1 for Classic Rock!

I got that station pretty well in my car and on my home stereo when I lived in Bensalem.

I'm definitely not a racist, and I didn't take his comment that way. However, I think he is right. Smooth jazz does attract a significant black audience, and an abnormally large percentage of stations in Philly do cater to blacks because there are so many of them living here. I'm not saying that out of contempt for music from black artist. In fact, I usually like it esp hip-hop. I think it's fun. However, I like classic rock too.

yea, it does come in decently around the bensalem/l-town areas...
