When is Supertalk flipping to ESPN? I have heard Jim Pruett and Co. talking about it over and over again, but haven't caught the exact date. Any clue? I'd like to record the flip, as I did with Power to Rock, and Rock to FM News.

Purpledevil the date is January 1st. No idea of the time, it most likely will be at midnight of December 31st and January 1st.

I've tried calling the main number, 713-300-3500 of Cumulus, but all I've gotten is a busy signal. I would think that they would give out the information as it is no big secret. I also called 713-300-3497 which directs you to the operator, but all it did was ring for ten minutes. Maybe Cumulus no longer has an operator in Houston. The stations can not be getting that many calls.

If I ever get through and get an answer I'll post it.

What's going to happen to Pruett and Shannon? Sure hate to see them go.....again. Would they fit at mornings at 103.7?

I think they would be a good fit on 103-7 mornings. Don't be surprised if they show up afternoons on 103-7 back in the time slot they had at KFNC previously.

From what they've said during their program, they are going to television. I haven't heard what station is potentially picking up the show. I have e-mailed Jim Pruett to get that information as soon as it's available. From his response nearly 4,000 other e-mails have been asking for the same information as to where they go next.

Not to try to stir anything up... but looking at their cume and doing small calculations... that means that they got more emails than they have normal listeners? 4000 seems like a very random number for him to toss out.

Not to stir anything up either but I believe they have about 30,000+ plus listeners over the age of 18 so 4,000 emails may be not so random.

Considering the National average is 1% of listeners to web turnover... that's a very random number.

Would probably be KNWS or KTBU. Seems more likely one of them.

Of all the programs on 97.5, I'm most concerned about the fate of High Fidelity. David's program is one of the most creative that is on Houston radio today. Perhaps David knows what the future holds and could share that with us...

David's show is the best thing on Houston radio right now. Sad to see it go.

Thanks to both of you, I appreciate that. I am open to talking with any station that is interested in giving High Fidelity a new home. Since my show covers music from 1966 to 2007, it could work on any type of station that plays Rock & Roll music. Since I try avoid labeling my show as any one specific genre other than Rock & Roll, the music I play is best described as having a common thread that begins with the music of The Beatles, The Stones, The Who and The Kinks. It continues with T.Rex, The Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop and David Bowie. The remainder of the artists I play come from a wide range of sub-genres and can all be traced back musically to the aforementioned artists. Acts such as Talking Heads, Television, R.E.M., Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Clash, The Pixies, The Replacements, The Jam, Social Distortion, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Sonic Youth, Grandaddy, Spoon and The Arctic Monkeys. Obviously, it's a very long list and there are many lesser known bands that I play as well. (I'm sure someone is reading this and thinking, "Who could be lesser known than Grandaddy?" - haha). It's worth mentioning that the artists I play on the show are equally as important as the artists I don't play. My show is not just about playing music I like. There are plenty of other artists whom I have great respect for, but their music doesn't fit the overall feel and concept of the show. A quote from Bob Seger's "Against The Wind" comes to mind, "What to leave in, what to leave out".

If anyone who reads this board would like to contact me about the show, you can e-mail me directly at [email protected] or you can visit me at http://myspace.com/thelastdj. I am currently putting together a demo of the show and will have that ready very soon.
