97.5 to Philly

Haven't heard about in a while, so I thought I'd bring it up. Has anybody heard anything new about 97.5 moving to Philly? Because I know they are dying to light up the airwaves with modern rock. That would be nice wouldn't it? ;) A radio station playing rock songs that aren't from the 80's? To risque for Philly! Arbitron is flawed.

Trust me, Nassau isn't dying to light up Philly with anything; they're dying to light up their pockets with a huge sale on a premium Philly stick -- once it's moved of course.
______________

Nassau has parked the WPLY calls on its AM stick on 960 in Mount Pocono, PA. They could move them to 97.5 when the transmitter moves to Philly.
______________

The "Y97" theory is one that's been tossed around for a while, yet I'm not sure how viable/plausable/truthful it is (I bet not very). I'll give you this: Nassau MIGHT (and that's a HUGE might) move the 'PLY calls to 97.5 and start an active or modern rocker and then sell to the highest bidder, but I think they realize that a stick that's throwing out an already established (yet new) format might mean a lower bid come sell time. They have something relatively flexible in the Hawk, why would they try to sell something stuck in a niche like an alt rocker? I say they'll sell, and if you're hoping for a modern rock station, hope the new owner takes up the cause.
______________
