97.5 WAMZ or New Country 103.9?

If New Country would add some talent they might have a chance and take a small chunk of the WAMZ pie.. in seattle last year a country station similar to New Country came out and went head to head with long time #1 KMPS who never had any real competors.. the new station is really kicking their butt!

The problem with other country stations before was they were there to protect WAMZ.. The HAWK and the BULL Were both Clear Channel owned and in the studio next to WAMZ.. if Cox would put some $$$ into New Country hire some great talent and launch a huge marketing campign they might just make the tired of WAMZ a little nervous!

Music wise I think New Country has it.. but Cox will never put anything into it for it to be worth anything.. if they don't do something now it will be gone in 2 or 3 years like every other failed country station in town!
 
Give me New Country's music and WAMZ's 2001 staff/presentation. Bring back Gator's Top 10 at 10 countdown. Oops...that requires a live jock...never mind.

After Clear Channel killed 989 in 1999 everything went down hill.. and Gator Glass, yuck.. bring Sunny Stevens back... after they let her go it all started to suck!
 
Its obvious cox does not care what format is on 103.9.

I am just greatful they got rid of that god awful sad excuse for an 80s station!!!

Do you all remember when 103.9 was a christian rock station then we got kiss 104 in 1990 and how many formats has it been since???Tony cruz use to do the morning show along with frosty on kiss 104. I would bet money cox will not put invest into 103.9. Then it was after djx killed kiss 104 and simulcasts djx on there for a little while.Then it became the hawk and then the bull and then kiss. So no matter who owns it no one cares.A lost soul!!!Like a little puppy trying to find its way!!!So sad!!!

Actually it was Hot Country 1039.. then Jacor moved country to 1077 and put Smooth Jazz on 1039.. when country moved to 1077 the "HAWK" was born.. then Jacor later sold the WHKW calls to Clear Channel and the HAWK was put on 989 and replaced "KJ 989" and WSFR was 1077.. first as "Super Star 1077" then re-branded as "107-7 S-F-R".

After several years of Smooth Jazz 1039, Jacor flipped to MIX 1039... then Cox flipped MIX to 1039 the point...
 
I like "New Country 1039" better than WAMZ. They play just new country but WAMZ plays everything from Classic Country to new country and i hate that.
