97.7 CHOM - w/ 97.9 and 97.5

Thanks to eagle 97.5 and the resurrected "album station" on 97.9, CHOM is now totally unlistenable in central Franklin County.
In fact all three stations have pretty bad signals - pretty much hammering one another.

Music on Dish Network has none of those problems.....HMMmmmmm

thats going to do some Damage listening up at Jay Peak VT. I also wish that WGMT 97.7 was on an adjacent frequency instead of 97.7. I think it is funny you can get CHOM not too fat from Magics transmitter as well as going up Burke MTN toll road you will get CHOM instead

Oh well......I did love CHOM.......back in the early seventies, when I first moved here from a city (Cleveland) that had two "underground" free form FM radio stations.
That's when they sounded like "The Album Station".

Once the Canadian signal crosses the border......well, you know what happens.

Neither WTNN or 97.9 have what you would consider to be monstourous signals by any definition. A halfway decent radio with good selectivity (like a Grundig G8, or similar) should be able to still receive CHOM without much effort around there.

I live in the Champlain Islands and with my older Masda van Chom gets interfeared with heading south on US 2 about northern part of North Hero. But with my Kea Sprectra 5 I get Chom all most down to Essex juction.

With Chom now about 50/50 classic rock/modern rock and WZXP 97.9 like what CHOM use to be back 40 years ago, I not upset anymore when WZXP move right next to Chom on the FM Dial.

If you want a more selective radio get an HD radio, even if you never use it to listen to HD. Because of the way HD works the filters in an HD radio have to be sharper than those inmost analog tuners and radios.
