97.7 flipped to Latin at Noon

The same was true when CBS moved WBCN to HD-2 and the Free Form station that was on WZLX - HD3. To me it makes no sense that Beasley now parks the calls in Florida after they shut down the Charlotte station where CBS originally parked the calls. They don't run the HD2 station anymore (changing it to Hubcast shortly after they assumed control of WBZ-FM). And, what was WBCN would be suited to be resurrected with a modern rock format (if it was ever to come back), not a direct competitor to WBOS.

The "C" in WBCN might make the call useful to some station outside the Boston market that Beasley wants to flip to country, so why not hold onto the call instead of having to look for one that isn't in use later? Big Country Naples? Bangor's Country, New? (Just examples, I'm not going to look up all of Beasley's markets for the sake of this one post.)

Seems like a lot of work to keep the calls of a station they picked up in a swap, by moving them when the station shut down, all on the whim that it could help should they ever decide to start a country station in another unrelated market. Makes more sense that they're trying to protect WBOS from a potential competitor. Sad part is, I couldn't tell you who would even be wanting to resurrect WBCN. Audicy just got rid of WAAF, iHeart has WZLX.

Today commercials are mostly in Spanish, but a few including one with Susan Wornick are in English.

Traffic and weather are in English.

Sounds like what I hear on the very low-budget "Bomba" here in Connecticut. Some advertisers apparently don't have Spanish-language ads produced. Will this be permanent in Boston or is the presence of English commercials and other elements temporary until Spanish-fluent talent is found to voice the spots and deliver the reports?

Beat of Boston weather was the intro I heard Saturday and today for the weather.

Is the intro played in studio or at the weather/traffic service studio ?

Heard a Town Fair Tire ad in Spanish, but a Coke/Big Y ad in English.
