97.9 The Loop Branding

As an infrequent visitor to Chicago, I have a question about The Loop. The last time I was in Chicago was July 2009. When did The Loop switch its branding to Classic Rock rather than Rock (AOR, if you will) in general? Why the change?
 
Happened a couple months ago.

The reason for the change? Simple. The ratings stunk; The Drive was kicking their ass.
 
The LOOP used to be somewhat good. the genre was fine, but they beat to death the same songs.

now, they are beating to death songs that have been REALLY beaten to death.

HEY LOOP, there are other songs on those albums !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am southwest suburban. and i cannot get a good rock radio station :'(

although "sometimes" i can get 103.9 out of indiana. that is a pretty good station.
