97 KAKC special on KWGS

Great memories and a well done production. Part 1 runs again next Friday and part 2 on 9/17.

It truely starts at ownership and goes down from there. Today's owners are corporate and unwilling to take risks that made for inovations in radio that made the industry what it was. Lack of respect for programming inovation, lack of risk-taking, and lack of respect for what talent brings to the bottom line is what is killing radio. Other technological advancements just give listeners a way to get what they want.

Very cool show BTW!

In the days when KAKC was popular, radio was locally owned, and the owners / management was part of the community. Not so, anymore. The best thing the FCC could do would be to roll back ownership to an AM/FM combo at most per company in a market. Forced with some local ownership of stations, there might be more accountability to the community that there is today.
