970 vs 1080

With 970's ratings higher than 1080 every book, do they make more money? 1080 has a local show during the week unlike 970 and you would think more people would listen to local over syndicated. I'm out in CA and can't listen to it because 1080 don't stream.

Why would you WANT to listen to 1080? I listen to Hannity on it, but it's never had anything else worth listening to. (In recent memory.) And let's face it, Hannity isn't that big a plus.

They had former 1 term Democrat congressman Mike Ward doing mornings for a long time and it was horrible. No, worse than that, it was LAUGHABLE. I think he paid for the airtime and went out and sold his own commercials.

Contrast that to 970, which has a really decent conservative radio lineup:

Bill Bennett
Laura Ingraham
Dennis Miller
Michael Medved
Mike Gallagher

Yeah, none are local, but they are all worth listening to. 1080 is just like a big classified advertisement with a couple of free shows thrown in. Good for CC that it makes money for them without them having to do any work.

1080 has but on purpose. Flanker to 840. The few spots that are on 1080 are sold in a package with 840. That is, the AE tells the client if they buy X number of spots on 840, they will throw in X number of spots on 1080. A majority of time on 1082 however is brokered time. That is like Mike Ward was doing and the show Big Talk on Small Business does, they purchase the blocks of time from Clear Channel, then resell the time to sponsors. If 970 could swap Miller for Hannity, they would have the best talk lineup in Louisville.

Wow I've never heard of a talk station airing brokered time during that time slot. Flanker I've heard of and understand but don't agree with.

So to answer your question 1080 makes a ton more money than 970.

Who provides a better news and traffic service? KNN and TTN or Metro?

For Louisville, Metro. KNN has stories from the hinterlands of Kentucky that I could really care less about. Metro keeps it local.

I think Metro's traffic on WGTK is tons better than TTN on WKJK.

Eeeeeeven though I feel that......Mac Hunter has a......choppy delivery that doesn't always...........divide sentences up into.............units that make a lot of sense.

Making money for CC on the public's airwaves... How does this serve the public's interest?

Oh yeah, I forgot about him. I'd rather listen to my truck door rattle than listen to Dave Ramsey, so that's why I forgot. I was just glad when he was no longer there to junk up GTK.
