97x sharing talent

Outside of obvious money issues does anyone know why 97x is sharing talent with 101.5, and further more why it seems they're using the same talent during the same day part?

Channel surfing the other night I heard 97x's Phoebe on 101.5 as Jess Andrews live then turned back to 97x to hear her on live there too.

Then Saturday morning Jess Andrews was on 101.5 until noon where she went on as Phoebe at 97x.

It's the same person with out a doubt you can tell by her voice, and if that's not enough "Jess" is the name that Fisher and Boy use to refer to her as when they're talking about Boy's girlfriend...who happens to be Phoebe or Jess...whoever she is.

My question is how many other jocks are they doing this with, this is the first time I've heard this, does anyone know of any other stations in the area that do it?

not un-common, but that is said, with a (*)

it is natural, for a station, to have a jock w/ 'one name'
on their residental station, and if (esp. if softer-easier listening)
may drop the "mad-dog" of mike mad dog johnson, or
even alter it to: michael j.

but what u explained is very strange!

They must have her tape the Point breaks, because the timechecks are always WAY off. Quite silly, as is having her on 101.5 the same time she's on 97X.

She sounds good on both stations, though.

Doing timechecks at all is lame and especially during automation.... but it's not surprising from Cox. What I'd like to know is why the sudden interest in sticking "voices" on The Point?

Voicetracking. CC does the same thing at other stations. For instant, in Cleveland they have Chuck Collier voicetrack WMJI-60, 70, 80's while he's on WGAR-country at the same time. They have other on air talent voicetrack and overlap on different staions in different markets but both can be picked up in certain areas.

I'd like to know, too. They got rid of Nick/Jeff, added Jess/Phoebe and Dick/Dick from 97X and kept Corey in the morning. Are they just trying something new for the sake of trying something new? That's almost unheard-of from the always two-years-behind-the-times upper-management at Cox.
