They were imaging as "The Beat of The Bay", now it's Old School!?
No - they're still
"the Beat of the Bay,", but that's just a slogan, and means anything they want it to...as long as the music skews 'urban,' I guess.
Kiss-FM has played primarily "old school" (classic soul) since inception (about 1998, I think), and have more recently added music from the 90s, and some current hits.
Every time I tune them in (a couple times a week, usually weekends), they're still playing primarily old school. Maybe it varies by day part. In my opinion, the new variety is a good thing. and the station sounds better. After a decade of the same few dozen 70s soul and Motwon hits, the station was sounding pretty dull, in my opinion.
According to their website at 8:25 AM, the last 10 songs played were: (1) Chic - Good Times, (2) Spinners - Could It Be I'm Falling In Love (3) Pointer Sisters - He's So Shy, (4)Evelyn Champagne King - Love Come Down, (5) Pebbles - Girlfriend, (6) Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus, (7) Michael Jackson - P.Y.T., (8) Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam - Can You Feel The Beat, (9)Diana Ross & The Supremes - Reflections, and (10) Pretty Poison - Catch Me.
Seems pretty typical to me.
