98.1 Translator

I used to compalin about the 60 HZ hum on the 98.1 translator. I don't need to do that any more sicen I tuned by ti this afternoon and the signal was totally unlistenable. Doesn't anybody care (at either end of the broadcast chain).

This translator has crapped on other signals from day one.

I was discussing the ongoing garbage spewing out of this station, with another engineer today and do not understand why local broadcast engineers have not notified the FCC.
This garbage transmission would never have been tolerated in the old days.

When I represented a local broadcaster in the day, we had our FCC Council look into several matters related to the operation of this station.

As a side note the operation of the station was found to be legal at the time ,but needs serious engineering help.

Listened again today in north east heights.
Very trashy signal.

Maybe a different approach.

lets get some of the local engineers together and offer tech support.

Listened for some time today, sounds much improved.............

They are UP for Sale asking I heard 700K yes a Belen AM with a rim shot Translator in Bureque can be yours for ONLY 700K

I thought KBLM was an LP FM and not an AM :)

The translator puts out a good signal on FM in ABQ when it is working properly.

Sorry but I don't have a spare 700k. KKOB might. A chance to move to FM?

This is being discussed in another thread as well, where, actually what tower are they on these days? Quite a few years ago they were on Crown Castle on the low power end of the crest.

Off air reception of any out of ABQ signal is a huge challenge, especially an LP from there

In town today. 104.1 HD-2 is off (dead air).

But the 98.1 translator is at it again. Unless there is something wrong with my radio, while the hum is gone, but they are way overmodulating.

Somebody with a spare 700k put them out of their misery.
