They're testing their signal again with KZZA programming on it. How long is this going to last?? Just curious!

At least they are thoroughly testing the new facility, rather than tossing it on the air with full programming. Will save a lot of headaches later on. 8)

From Radio and Records:

* Entravision picked up KBOC/Dallas back in February, and the company finally pulled the plug on the Country format a couple of weeks ago. Now we hear that Entravision's getting ready to launch something new and exciting on KBOC's 98.3 FM signal. Could it be the company's Spanish-language anything-goes Jack-like format "José" or Regional Mexican "Radio Tricolor"? Will Entravision set up a remote outpost for media darling Alternative KDLD & KDLE (Indie 103.1)/Los Angeles? Who knows ... We don't, but we might find out soon.

I say "Jose'", but I hope I'm wrong.

We don't need anymore Spanish stations, we have too many in DFW

I have Good News :) and Bad News :'( about KBOC:

The Good News: They filpped to their real format today.
The Bad News: It's "Yet Another Spanish Station" (phrase copywrite 1998, radio-digest.com :))

The satelite "Jack For Spanish" format Jose is now on 98.3 F.M.

Will the next format switch in the market please consider a non-Spanish, non-Country format please?

This alone should be a good enough reason for Clear Channel to flip 97.1 to something english.

Que? Someone has got to give the traffic report as they swim across the river;)

I don't think this station will do anything in this market. It will be up against Univision's Recuerdo and Clear Channel's La preciosa. It will be very though to actually have a very big impact. Now the real question is which station will be the first to pull out from spanish oldies?

How well does that signal go through Dallas? Radio-locator doesnt have the maps out yet.

Probably similar coverage to the other Class C northern rimshots (94.5, 96.7, 100.7, 101.7, 103.3, 105.7) but overall shifted a little west.

Well, look at the bolded part, the C stands for contruction permit.
Whenever a station does not have a construction permit, just replace the C with an L.
The U at then very end stands for unlimited hours of operations. that should only change in AM patterns (I.E. Nighttime patterns=N daytime patterns=D)

Just goes to show you how much free time I have in my hands! ;D
