98.3 translator is up...

I'm not a radio expert, but I would describe the music that's playing as Light Jazz, not Alternative. Is this just stunting or is it the new station? I haven't heard a station id, but I haven't listened very long.

Rickrolling????

Seriously????

1) Not cool, not cool at all...that "literally" got played out years ago!!

2) What's so "Alt" about Rick Astley in the first place?

I think the format is running.

Off air in the middle of the song... back a minute later.

I wonder if they're going to reimage the station at the last minute and make it 98 point "Cadillac 3"?

Late yesterday afternoon, I heard New Kids on the Block (!), the Police, a couple of tunes by George Strait, then about an hour's worth of "No One Is To Blame" by Howard Jones, before they reverted back to "Tennessee Mojo." I believe that RFCC might actually be onto something here!

Today's 89.3 stunting included a short switch to simulcasting WUBT HD2′s smooth jazz format, then back after 5 to Tennessee Mojo. Later two more Cadillac Three songs were added, playing in rotation until Jack White led off the 7:00 hour. Signal still up and down, was strong for the West End drive home, but in Franklin found a mix of music and underlying static.

Not sure if Cadillac Three and Jack White are samples of Alt to come (Hard Alt Country?), but that's a format I could like.

It sounds like a Nash Icon knockoff now...If the pattern keeps going the way it has been, it's back to "Cadillac 98.3" tonight...

FINALLY!!!!! We have a new station and its website is up too!!!!! Hopefully they'll add local talent after a while...at least in one daypart. Looking at their schedule, it's jocks from various Clear Channel rock stations piped in, with computers running outside of the "bird shows".

Not sure what kind of on-air sound they're going for, but before we came to the end of the first hour, I kept expecting to hear a mom's voice break in on Slappy and Zeus: "Now boys, turn the music down in the basement!" Or maybe even "Boys, milk and cookies are ready upstairs in the kitchen." Sounds like this crew is going to make the Buzz air staff sound like grown-ups... oh, wait maybe that's the strategy. Kind of like when Free Beer and Hot Wings edged out Bob & Tom at the Buzz...

Sounds well-executed for what it is - an establishing shot - so far. VERY male leaning. Sounds more like a decent 80s AOR than alternative, but that's what things are coming to (again).
