So why won't they stream it on their website or on IHeartTuneIn?

Yeah, I was hoping to generate some buzz for the same thing, or better yet, a translator frequency!
(Like I really think that'll ever happen ::) )

This is the best sounding format on Atlanta radio in my opinion. I think it could best be described as a current version of the highly successful beautiful music formats that aired til the early 1980s. WSB's engineering folks have the audio sounding perfect too. Big downside other than few receivers.. the HD signal will drop out just beyond Mall of Georgia heading north. HD signal range isn't nearly as far as the regular analog signal if you are among the few with HD receivers. I have listened in a car. I bet the range on radios inside a building is a lot less. Not WSB's fault, just the digital technology

Well, the HD could have better range if WSB spent the capex to upgrade the HD signal to the new higher power limits the FCC authorized last year. Unfortunately, all of the stations in Atlanta had already built their HD plants and probably not going to cough up the bucks to do the power upgrades.

I bit the bullet an bought the Insignia (Best Buy inhouse brand) portable, NS-HD01 for about $20 used. Money well spent.

I don't know why they don't promote this, not even on the WSB website. Aside from Project 9-6-1 re-appearing on WWPW HD-2, this is the ONLY Atlanta FM station actually running unique "can't find it anywhere else" programming that HD radio was touted to deliver.

We see what a massive SCAM this is that the corporate broadcasters do with using it to feed translators. I doubt they are actually translating anything, listen to the audio on WSTR-HD3 (Streetz 94.5) and tell me with a straight face they are re-broadcasting this low bit, mono stream. What a farce.

That being said, if you are one of the few who own an HD radio, WSB-HD2 is great. It's too bad it isn't on I Heart Radio or TuneIn. Apparently it's one of the best kept secrets in Atlanta radio.

I have a Pioneer DEH-44HD I bought at Wal-Mart for $119, this is a great radio, essentially identical to the Pioneer DEH-4400HD. In addition to a built-in HD tuner, it also does RDS on analog FM, and has a USB input on the front and Ipod/Iphone control including APP mode so you can pipe AP audio directly from the USB. You can also pipe any 1/8" audio to the front mounted analog jack. And it has a CD player with WMA/MP3 support if you happen to have a few of those old shiny things lying around.

Too bad this market sucks as bad for HD radio as it does for analog. Another thorn in the side of spoken word is none of the stations who went spoken word have bothered to turn their HD2's back on. 95.5 stopped running HD when it went babble, so did 106.7 (despite the fact they are in HD) and now sports babble 92.9 is mono only no HD. As a rsult, 95.5 the beat died, 106.7 USED to have a great smooth jazz on HD2-, it's gone- and 92.9 killed Dave roots when it flipped to babble.

I have been listening to 98.5 HD2 while driving around. I really like that station. I like that it crosses several decades so the play list is large without having to go too deep.

This station is phenomenal. I went to best buy and bought the same radio as mentioned above and I have it wired through some huge speakers, I have not turned it off since. This is the way radio use to be in this town, I applaud WSB for this. ;D ;D ;D

Hat's off to WSB for doing a great format on WSB-HD-2. I knew it was there and have not listened in a while but it's as good as ever and have had it on all day. Great to hear the likes of Dionne Warwick,Johnny Rivers, B.J. Thomas,The Beach Boys, Elton John,(when he was good) The Carpenders, and even Barry Manilow. Keep up the good work! ;)

I like it!!

I just left a voice mail with the PD of WSB-FM asking about the possibility of a stream. I will post the response when I get one.

I did the exact same thing earlier, and wrote an email ..........Here is the email I wrote.

Hey Tony,
I left you a voice mail today. But just wanted to say THANK YOU for the HD2 signal, it is absolutely the best HD I have ever heard, brings back memories when radio was "great" in this dismal market. I wish you guys would stream it online, or better yet put it on the regular air, it would be Number 1. Us 50+ peeps have nothing to listen to on regular radio. Thanks so much. I do not know who is responsible for this, but KUDOS to them.

Brent Petit

Again I totally agree. It's the best station on the air. I have heard some wonderful music today and tonight. Thank you WSB! :D

A question from south FL.....is WSB-FM HD2 a copy of WFEZ Miami/WDUV in Tampa? After all, it is a Cox property. (I'd say, if they play the Carpenters, that answer is no.)
