Could the station simply turn over those hours (when not broadcasting play-by-play sports), to Fox Sports Radio, which is already heard overnights?
It would save the station money.
But on the other hand, it would be one less local program on the local radio dial during the evening hours.

It's odd, Jones left during the middle of December and more then two months later they haven't announced a replacement full time show. Maybe with their financial issues they're content to just have a rotation of the weekend/ fill-in guys and save some $$?
