Would someone please explain, in the city limits of Philadelphia, 98.5 is loud and clear and has always been, even back in the days of the WJLK simulcast, B-98.5 and G-Rock. 106.5 has no singnal or presence in the same area, I always hear how 106.5 is on a super high tower etc., but 98.5 is superior with signal strength in Philly, where 106.5 has none, and this has nothing to do with KDN or any other local outlet, its all with the brute strength of the signal. The 106.5 frequency is dead and quiet in Philly, where-as 98.5 is almost city grade, that is also driving around in the area.

I think just the opposite. That 106.5 signal is beautiful for only 6kw while the 98.5 signal isn't anything out of the ordinary, it's just a class-A from 50 miles away. I've had much better luck with 106.5 in the city than 98.5. In my experience, you can easily get 106.5 well into parts of Montgomery and Bucks Cos almost like a local.

Both stations have nearly identical situations - 106.5 has full class-Bs on either side of it in Philly (106.1 and 106.9). 98.5 has full class-B's on either side of it, too (98.1 and 98.9). Both stations, minus whatever HAAT differences there are, should be of almost equal strength. Atleast until someone drops a translator on either or both frequencies, anyway!
