WSBH will never be in The Top 3 simply because of it's signal limitations that cant be changed.

But again, for a 6KW signal competing in a sea of 50 and 100KW signals at even greater antenna height, theyre doing damn good. (WHKR and WLRQ are both 50KW at somewhere around 450 feet, WAOA is 100KW at about 490 feet or so.. and WSBh is 6KW at 328 feet.

Hmm, 95.9 The Pirate has a BIGGER signal then WSBH, its 21.5KW at 356 feet and it's doing WAY worse then 98.5 The beach. it's not always al labout who has the biggest signal.. it's how the signal is programmed and if people like it and listen...PEOPLE ARE OBVIOUSLY LISTENING to 98.5 The beach WSBH.

WAOA and WHKR are good, but part of their ratings come from heritage.. and thats simply what alot of people listen to..... but with the amount of older folks in Florida, if WSBH was on a bigger signal, with no standards format on the dial and no more True Oldies on 1560, theyd do even better.

Much easier to listen to than their O'town competitor (not so Sunny 105.9). Regan Smith doing the morning news (all be it just reading FL Today) makes it better too. I'm curious as to how Ray does two morning shows at once [a sister station down south, is it live also?].

Ray is voicetracked on Coast 101.3 WHLG.

hey.. I've just been friends with a radio person or two there for 5 or 6 years (which is how long I've been in radio). .and I always support/stand up for my friends (Read the 1290 thread, lol)

back on topic... 98.5 really does great things.. they have several sales guys, but i happen to know one of them.. he's great at dealing with clients.. and he was a wonderful promotions driven mind. Id hire him in an instant to sell for me if I had a station and handle my promotions.

That being said, a large part of WSBH's success is the listener interaction, and all the remotes/promotions they're doing!
