98.5 The Beach

Can anyone tell me whether this station can be heard in any part of Orlando? I find that I'm their new PM Drive guy via Dial-Global Radio Networks, and was just wondering. BTW, 'Cool' Ray Michaels, formerly of the old Cool 105.9, is their Morning Guy/ OM. They are Licensed to Satellite Beach, I believe. Thanks.

Never heard of 'em. Who owns them, how's the signal, what's the format, etc...?

Thanks, guys...seems like some folks S.E. of O-Town may hear it. BTW, it's Classic Hits now. I gotta smile...I'm listening to one of my breaks on the stream as I write this.....technology...love it and hate it! ;D

When I lived on the east side of the metro (Waterford Lakes), 98.5 was an equal mix of WSBH & WKTK. Neither station could be received clearly.

Thanks, I know they had a technical glitch today regarding the transfer of my tracks. All should be well tomorrow.

Every once in a while I could pick up 98.5 The Beach. The majority of the time, 98.5 KTK from Ocala comes in. This is a drive from Apopka to Winter Park on SR436/Semoran in the nighttime.

Hope this helps. Congrats on your new acquisition!

Thanks, DJ MO! Wow, after looking at the coverage map I'm surprised you'd ever hear it through Altamonte and Casselberry on 436. I guess it would depend on the trops. There are probably very few places in Orlando where it is heard as a matter of routine. Makes me appreciate the huge signal of BJ-105 even more. I would get regular calls from as far south as Sebastian. ;D

John, The Beach is a Class A 6kw and covers Brevard just fine and has always been a Classic Hits station. Check the latest numbers and you'll find it is now tied for 1st place 12+ with Lite Rock...not too shabby. Glad you found your back to the coast on a station that respects the music it plays!

Congrats to Dave Poore and Ray Michaels for the great job they have done to be Number ! 12+ in the Brevard book. They tied with Lite Rock for first, amazing considering the signal difference between the two. Hard work and consistant programming, plus great promotions is what made
the Beach a winner.

Right. The Beach's signal works perfectly for the area they're trying to reach. Actually, it's probably a good thing they're only 6,000 watts with no possibility of upgrade. If it were a bigger signal, it would no doubt have been snapped up by a large conglomerate and moved into Orlando as 98.1, 101.1, and 104.1 have been.
