Just turned on 98.5 they seem to be the same, i hope they decide to keep most of the modern rock. They just played Seether - Remedy, into Blink 182- Dammit, interesting. Not bad for a rock station though. any thoughts?

The music doesn't seem to be radically different, but they are no longer "The Bone"...they are "LONG ISLAND ROCK - FM CHANNEL 98"

WLIR calls might fit here?

Just out of pure curiosity, might the WLIR calls wind up moving (back) to 98.5? It is "Long Island Rock" (LIR)...

I think you missed TMO's point. It is not about the calls anymore. Its Channel 98 - Long Island Rock.

SIRUIS should rename 1st Wave to SIRIUS 22: The World Famous LIR. And maybe rename SIRUUS 66 The Beat to SIRUIS 66 Party66. They could syncronize this change with their new 29-Sept line-up. Satellite companies see the value of personalities and imaging and are really moving in this direction. Maybe they can take a tip from John C and reduce the monthly fee or eliminate it by sponsering each hour.

How is this suppose to be competing with XM? The Rock on XM doesn't have billy joel, it has much more in the way of modern rock and 90's rock and the occasional Led Zepplin, or Ozzy but that's it. What is morey thinking with everything that rocks. I'll pay to hear more modern rock on XM. Unless this FM casting tweeks in the way of sounding like the XM rock. Even Io's music choice rock channel is about 75% New Rock, 10% 90's rock, and Van Halen, Ozzy and led Zep ect. We'll have to wait and see
