Driving around Center City yesterday, I tuned into 98.5 to see what G was doing, instead I picked up a talk show with Jerry Springer as the host, it was around 9:45 until 10AM when he broke for news, then the station faded when I left a certain section. What station was this and does Jerry have a morning talk show on certain radio stations, or was this one of those stations that is piped in at rest homes, it was in stereo.

A few things that are odd about this:

- Springer's show runs live from 10-Noon. (Edit: Never mind; his own show's website gets the start time of his show wrong...it starts at 9. I think Jersey Shor's idea that it's somebody's FM modulator is probably dead on.)
- A look at Springer's website shows that he isn't on 98.5 anywhere.
- He's on WHAT in Philadelphia.

There are a few translators within 100 miles on 98.5 that could have strayed onto your radio, but none of them that I know of are pumping out Jerry. Maybe G is Springer's newest affiliate?

You probably picked up someone in a nearby car that was listening to Air America Radio on XM. XM has several receivers that use FM modulators.

Driving to work every morning I hear Howard Stern on 88.1 most of the way because of various cars with Sirius and FM modulators.

Jerry Springer is not and wasn't on on WHAT. WHAT dropped its limited affiliation with Air America last year, but they only ran Al Franken & Randi Rhodes, not Springer. Jerry Springer's show started local in Ohio, then was picked up as part of the Air America lineup, but never in Philadelphia.
