98.7 is flipping on Friday 1/10 6pm

As someone who may or may not know more than they can say at this moment, can you expound on the announcement? Was it TJ discussing it during his show? A liner? So far none of the current 98.7 operators I've heard back from have commented.

I just heard it myself. Female host announced it's "going away this Friday. Tune in this Friday at 6pm to find out what's next".

Is it possible that this does not necessarily signify that a new owner is taking charge on Friday? Maybe the syndicator currently leasing 98.7 will simply feature different programming.

A liner saying that TJ is going away Friday at 6pm and it would continue to stream online after that

United Stations, the company programming TJ, has other shows and 24 hour formats. Maybe they are just switching to another show?

The company had a 3 month LMA that was renewed in November. The company, not the show, had the LMA. So it's possible they're switching in another one of their shows for the remainder of the LMA.

Incorrect... The original LMA, which is available in its FCC public file, was through the end of February but could be ended at any time with 30 days written notice from Emmis.

But -- why would United Stations run liners encouraging people to listen Friday at 6 to hear what's next if they weren't going to be programming it?

The liner said, "Tune in this Friday at 6 PM to find out what's next." That announcement covers a wide range of possibilities that might not have anything to do with 98.7. TJ could be talking about what's next for him and his show and where else someone who liked it might tune to hear it.

Maybe it will be “Next 98.7”?

Hit song: "Making News out of Nothing at All".

(Start Fair Use)

I know just how to whisper
And I know just how to cry
I know just where to find the answers
And I know just how to lie
I know just how to fake it
And I know just how to scheme
I know just when to face the truth
And then I know just when to dream

(End Fair Use)

I have never seen so many posts and threads about "nothing at all"
