98.7 Jack FM DX

Driving around 45 & Nasa Rd I picked up a Jack FM on 98.7. Signal wasn't strong enough to get an RDS signal or perhaps the station does not carry RDS. Went to radio-locator.com and searched for a 98.7 Jack FM and found one in Amarillo, Tx.

Also picked up a country station on 102.5 w/ RDS but I forgot the call letters. I do recall the text scrolled "Hot Country." Maybe someone can help me with this one.

KTXN is now Jack FM 98.7 in Victoria, possibly you could of picked them up.

I agree that you were most likely getting Victoria rather than Amarillo. Also, keep in mind that the Jack brand seems to keep growing. So, it's possible you could be getting a station that's not yet advertised on the website, though I still think smart money would go on KTXN. A lot of stations previously using "Bob" have switched to Jack since the Waitt/Dial Global merger.

It's Victoria - I was hearing it as well.

I knew it had to have been closer than Amarillo. I also thought KLUV in dallas flipped to Jack, but that didn't make any sense since Jack is already on 100.3 there.

As indeed I know very well...BOB from Waitt Radio Networks/Dial Global was a well produced product. They didn't want to get rid of it, but had to becuase their parent company (Dial Global) didn't want to be involved in the legal controversy surrounding a copyright trademark lawsuit filed by the format's creator in Canada, and his US representative.

Dial Global offered "Jack" to all former BOB affiliates. I don't know who took it, or who rolled their own (other than KWFB "BOB FM" in Holliday/Wichita Falls).
