Family Radio Sports Network š¤£
Y'all jest, but in San Francisco when CBS sold KFRC (610) to Family Radio in April 2005 partially in exchange for the 106.9 FM frequency, the AM station was still obligated to broadcast Oakland A's baseball for the rest of that season. (Speaking of a team that needed Hail Marys.) This also delayed Family's ability to convert the station to noncommercial operation. That is where the "Hail Mary pass" has a new meaning!

Maybe the more direct access to prayer helped! The A's finished 88-74 in 2005.
You know itās not too late for the Jets to reconsider a move back to 98.7. Theyāre in need of several Hail Marys š¤£š¤£That is where the "Hail Mary pass" has a new meaning!
TheBigA, wait until RadioInsight says that it's gonna be Family Radio on 98.7 and throughout the U.S. market. Is that clear? As we said in the other thread, the format will be based on the new owner. If the new owner is Family Radio, it won't be alt rock.
We're all just suggesting random ideas. Some sound ridiculous. Other's sound quite plausible.TheBigA, wait until RadioInsight says that it's gonna be Family Radio on 98.7 and throughout the U.S. market. Is that clear?

They also could offload 92.7 which would add some more money, too. Suddenly they don't need the millstone that's AM 1560 in any way...Once again, the format will be based on the new owner, whoever that is.
Speculation about format without knowing the owner is a waste of time. All I'm saying is Family has $50 million to spend.

If I were an oddsmaker, Family Radio would have 50:1 odds at the moment. If they buy a station it's more likely to be another AM or a suburban New Jersey FM to complement 92.7 and 106.3 WYMK.TheBigA, wait until RadioInsight says that it's gonna be Family Radio on 98.7 and throughout the U.S. market. Same here my friend!!!My money is still on alt rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Safe bet
not the worst choice
certainly not the best.
Club 98āŖļø7 would be amazing āSame here my friend!!!
If Country was viable, then Connoisseur would buy it and simulcast the Wolf.A concert with 15,000 in attendance is not the same as a full FM where a cume over 1,000,000 is needed just to be in the ad revenue running.
The market is increasingly ethnic, and Long Island has its own, albeit limited coverage, country FM.
Out of the list of 100 possible formats, put country at about 87th, right before "Mandarin Chinese".
There's kind of a HUGE difference between format viability and spending tens of millions of dollars to enter a new market with a standalone brand. If Country was viable, then Connoisseur would buy it and simulcast the Wolf.
OMG!!!!! What about smooth jazz and standards and beautiful music and Gregorian chants and doo wop and polka and and and ...If Country was viable, then Connoisseur would buy it and simulcast the Wolf.
And don't forget "all commercials, all the time."OMG!!!!! What about smooth jazz and standards and beautiful music and Gregorian chants and doo wop and polka and and and ...
There are no stations doing this! It's a format hole! 98.7 NEEDS TO DO THIS or they're not serving the public interest!!
