A good question and a valid premise.You'd think a move from California to Tennessee would be desirable for people with conservative, traditional values and lifestyles, wouldn't you? Were EMF's top brass surprised when staffers balked?
Perhaps much is due to leaving family, the kid's friends and schools and other personal concerns.
The central part of California is not as "woke" as the coastal areas, so I don't think that values and lifestyle would be such an issue. This is a good topic for discussion and speculation.
One thing that happens when companies release or let go key long time employees is that the organization's "institutional memory" is erased and that set of core past experiences that guide future decisions is lost.
