98.7 The Other FM Talk Station

I suspect they will be going in that direction. No reason for 97.1 to have a monopoly on FM talk, especially with Howard's departure to Sirius.

If that happens it would be, in some ways, a vindication for 97.1's format and for their GM Bob Moore. The market truly laughed at him when he launched and FM Talk format.

Look for Mancow to move to FM soon.


(Also, Brad Samuels move to San Diego as Market VP is hardly a "blow out." CC has more stations in San Diego than L.A. and he'll be in charge of all of them.)

Starting backwards, you don't go to San Diego from the #1 revenue market Los Angeles unless that is your only choice that you've been forced into.

Second, Star isn't going talk. Mancow is in place on a male oriented station and Clear Channel isn't giving up a "wall of women" station. Changes coming. You bet. And plenty of them. And thank goodness. I can't stand the approach of the jocks on Star. At least I won't have to hear that anymore.

CCU and the trades sure are making everything look so nice. If only that was really the truth...
