The MARKET is generally referred to as Greenville. COLs really only matter to radio geeks and the FCC.

That's what I meant...the 98.9 in the Greenville market. There are two 98.9's in the state that are prominent, 98.9/Greenville (Magic) and 98.9/Charleston area (ChickFM).

They have been having problems this afternoon too....I scanned by there and the signal was very weak, barely audible in some areas at times in Laurens county. It's usually one of the stronger ones.

Ever since they came back on the air, their signal has been significantly weaker everywhere I have been.

Just speculating here: Entercom has a CP to relocate the WTPT transmitter to the 98.9 site on Hogback mtn. The CP expires in May of this year. I wonder if they are operating at reduced power temporarily to accomodate the WTPT buildout?

Yeah, the signal was pretty bad towards the south today. I had noticed on my receiver (w/ strength meter) that it wasn't nearly as strong.
They have really cranked the processing up lately to where it is louder than most of the other FM's, but I doubt that has anything to do with WTPT. Interesting thought, though.

While we are discussing this station - I mentioned it briefly in another thread, but does anyone else agree that the musical selections and overall sound of this station has greatly gone downhill recently? I'm listening to 101.1 and 102.5 mostly these days. They've always sounded pretty good but leave a lot to be desired these days. I'm not too keen on a CHR PD programming an AC.
