98-9 Winnie Begins the Trek to Houston.

Where is this guy getting all these translators from? Im pretty sure Radio Aleluya would had tried to purchase these translators if they where openly for sale.

And I don't think he would be able to bring 98.9 any closer to Houston. It's to close to Sunny 99.1. But then again he managed to have his 98.7 translator right next door to La Raza 98.5 so anything is possible I guess.

How can it go to Houston when it's never been on the air? 98.9 is too close to 99.1.

It's moving channels to 99-5, as stated in the application. Fits two doors down from KODA and KSHN, while 99-7 KVST is moving up to Huntsville and signing on a simulcast partner in Cuney. That takes K-Star far enough away from having interference claims from Ben Amato.

If I were Roy Henderson, I'd apply to move KROY north as quickly as I possibly could to block it.

I think KOYM, KHGV, and particularly KLHG would have something to say about that.

The application for K255CV would place it on the KFNC tower, where it would cover pretty much nothing. They could try to hop it as far as Baytown, but past that they run into K258BZ, the NGEN translator in Sugar Land.

Speaking of KVST, any news about the move north?

The NGEN translator is likely to be on the market real soon....

I disagree. I think they'll keep it as a fill for spotty 91.7 coverage in Stafford/Missouri City/Sugarland.

That has been my thought; however any sale of the 99.5 translator would bring in a nice chunk of money to help pay off the purchase cost of 91.7. And keep in mind that the NGEN target demographic is much more likely to turn to the streaming app should they experience issues with the FM signal.

Also wouldn't surprise me to see the newly acquired 91.3 translator spun off as well.

Let me be the first to say I told you so. Once C-Dub was out of the running, K255CV started getting its ducks in order to bring its talents to Houston.

Exhibit A: http://fccdata.org/?facid=&call=K255cv&ccode=1&city=&state=&country=US&arn=&party=&party_type=LICEN

Let the position jockeying begin. This one will have to deal with several facilities that won't likely take interference sitting down.

Time to call my lawyer and go visit a tower site today.. I've never heard it on.. Doubt it's been built
