98 Gold is 24/7 on the bird

I'll bite...what is "98 Gold"?

WIBN (Earl Park?). I think Mark is selling for Art Angotti in Lafayette.

Hate to say told you so.

Well...WIBN had a 'golden' opportunity to do something to get more listeners, BUT unfortunately, it looks like that may have passed them up.

The station needs leadership. They're still having residual problems with their signal from the tower rebuild, and they need to invest in some processing. With nobody really in charge over there, neither is going to get done.

I always felt the station had potential and could hold its own in Lafayette with a niche format or in Illinois with more localization. Dan McKay did his best given what he had to work with and the station actually began operating cash flow positive as a result, but toggling the line between being a Lafayette station and a Watseka station has always held them back from their full potential. Balvich needs to choose a direction, and go forward with it full throttle.

Revenue is not their problem.

And Mister Lee informed me that he is doing mornings. Thus as of this point in time, 98 Gold's bird has been knocked off of it's perch for a few hours a morning.
