OK Time for me to be a Music Director and bring them ratings up Some station Call me!!! (Actually 98rock or anyone wanting a music director)

These weekly Countdowns are from many different charts and what I would play
on heavy rotation..at least 8 of these per hour every 3 hours so people would hear
New Music first... out of 12 songs per hour.

DoubleDowns PD ratings are a wopping 2.7 with the other alternative station at 2.8... when will they learn alternative nerd rock suxs! Stop with the Seattle crap thats been played for 15 years nonstop...stop with the dorky Toadies crap....Smashing wusses....DorkDay and most of the rest of the 90s crap. Play more harder new rock per hour and play some 80s metal here and there!!

Scott, nobody would seriously put Tesh on 98. MsMusic was making a joke. My comment about them "knowing more than you" and the examples that followed was obvious sarcasm. This is conversation, and conversation is not always serious.

I understand where you are coming from, though. We'd all like to make changes at the stations we either work at or listen to. The only way to change it is to become one of the people we regularly slam here: Management. Until that happens we are all just venting.

If you want to change rock radio so much, then go out and do it. Nobody's going to give you a job based just on your posts here.

I never said tesh should be on 98rock.. I just said CC likes to have Rex and Terry on their Rock Stations for morning drives. Also do you really think I'm looking for a Job @ CC or any radio corp? It's a joke... my top list are from 6 different charts combined into 1 and what I would put up on active rock radio. The music isnt a joke though..cause its whats being played in different markets...and most aren't being played here in Tampa cause of bad PD and upper Management. I do agree with you that these boards are free to say whatever, but I dont go on another thread to say something like "who cares about Mix radio" not to say you did it here.

re: tesh at 98. No of course you didn't, MsMusic did, as a joke. And everyone knows L&T belong on Rock stations. It surprises me that you can read all those charts but you...never mind, never mind.

Not gone, not name-calling...just not going to respond to your misperceptions and unwillingness to comprehend anymore. It's a moot thread, but there's enough off-topic convo to keep it interesting.. :-X

Old 98 and 95YNF. Gotta go with YNF on this one. Which station played "Master of Puppets" first? YNF. Ron & Ron versus anyone on 98 back then? Please. Heck, somewhere in my big bin of radio memorabilia I have a 95YNF clothing catalog. That's how big those guys were, and they had the talent to back it up.

98 was great to listen to as well (I flipped to it while YNF was running spots, and I still do that when my current faves are in spots), but they always seemed to suffer from one malady or another. Back then it was not enough "something" to make them special. Nowadays it's...well, not enough "something" to make them special, lol...

If I were suddenly put in charge, I would turn off the transmitters, fire everyone below me (air staff, promotions, sales, everyone) and wouldn't come back on the air until I could secure some unique on-air personalities and figure out exactly where to go with the music. Right now the only thing I would keep is The Pit.

(OK, I wouldn't fire everyone...but some would definitely go, and the rest I would require their allegiance to me and my vision. Some sort of blood-oath, perhaps.)
 
Put Tesh on AM Drive on 98 Rock. Then there is no attempt to compete with Bubba. We do need to think outside the box and move some cheese
 
Didn't WXTB start out with an all Led Zeppelin format??????

When exactly did WYNF go away???? I used to listen to them alot around 92-93. I thought that they had an awesome playlist. You would hear Metallica, Beatles, GNR, pretty much everything that was rock and roll....

Then it disappeared...
