98 Rock

I don't know what you people are smokin but WE DO have 2 competitors still. The Eagle is STRONG and 97x back in the first year of the PPM was VERY Strong. People put waaaay too much stock in signal. If you give them something they must have they find a way to get it. 97x is on our tower for cryin out loud. It's too funny cause we're always the after thought....ALWAYS.

Scott you're more of a broken record than anything I'll ever play on 98rock so whatever ;)

At this point in my life I will tell you this, I live, eat and breath this station PERIOD and I will do everything in my power to CRUSH YOU :-*

The Eagle is a joke, they get great ratings on paper, but their limited playlist is nauseating, and anyone with half a brain is insulted by it. While they're still charting well now, they're atrocious and everyone knows it. I wouldn't exactly call them direct competition. I wouldn't call 97X direct competition either because a completely different demographic finds them appealing... and for a reason, they play a lot of banal, repetitive, unoriginal crap, mixed in with some Nirvana. 98 Rock essentially does the same thing, but I don't fault the station. Every rock station in America right now sounds the same way... admit it. I've been all over this country, and the rock stations all sound the same (except in small markets). That's just how it is.

For those who don't seem to understand...

The ratings are a count of how many people listen to the station and how long they listen.

There is no "qualitative" measurement here, there's no panel of celebrity judges giving them a "10".

So the great ratings, on paper or otherwise, mean lots of people are listening.
