989 flip?

They playlist is growing. Still hearing allot of repeats way before they should play again but there is lots of stuff that I have never heard on the air at all in Memphis. I am pretty sure no station ever played Collage - I'll Be Loving You. I'm still listening for some Stevie B tracks.

I really couldn't stand to listen to KIM but I have had to open the roof and turn up the radio up loud a few times over the past couple of days.

I sort of hate the sweepers though.

I played Collage here and there on HBQ, a few years back.

Wow I missed that Karson. Freestyle tracks where never shown much love in Memphis Radio especially in the early 90s.

I have noticed more 80's filtering into the playlist.

I have noticed songs on a 4 hour rotation. That is going to get old really fast.

Guess I was expecting a huge outcry over the loss of KIM. Lol. Three pages, and not a single post demanding the return of John Tesh, or Ryan Seacrest. Kind of demonstrates why they're gone.

I refused to listen simply because I thought "Kim FM" was about the most femme sounding station name in the world. It would have been embarrassed to be caught listening to John Test with the windows down in the car. ;D

Either that or Jill in the Los Angeles area.

So the processing was sounding really awesome for a few days.
Better than 100 or 107.5 but now the highs are a distorted mess. Even the vocal range sounds like crap more often than not.

Whats wrong with a good bright, brilliant, and clean sound? It was being heavily processed and was loud but was much cleaner than it sounds today.

It sounds bad even on a Sony clock radio now.

We gen x'ers are not all deaf from our ipods, raves, and night clubs.

They found a domain name and have put up a site.

It looks like they had to settle on http://www.x989fm.com since the obvious choices where taken already.

They also have a facebook page now. http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/989fm?ref=nf
