98Q Morning show

Just like Mdiglia, I also go around the dial every morning trying to find something worth listening to. I give HCN a listen for the 80's at eight. Then I hop over to Country 92.5, on to PLR and Chaz & Aj and then I spend some time at 98Q. I gave my opinion of one of those shows and I stand by it. I thinks it's horrible.. Now Rachel, we obviously disagree about which of my comments are considered by you to be professional, and which are personal...Let me just ask you this...When you and Bill are doing your Idol talk or Idol chatter , whatever you call it,during American Idol season do you always have positive things to say about the contestants? Do you always review and give your opinion of just their performance? Are your opinions always professional?You never make comments about their appearance or the way they might speak? Look, that's what we do, we make comments and have opinions. We goof on people in the public eye/ear. There is plenty of young talent out there who would give their left ear to be in your position, and I'm almost positive someone like Oz would put in the required show prep and then some to be prepared for mornings..

Now on to Caveman..Yes it is therapy and I do feel better...Thank you for asking...Now let me ask you a question..What are you doing on the Connecticut board? You no longer live here. No longer part of Connecticut radio...You certainly have brought nothing to the table regarding the original topic of this thread. Do you actually have an opinion of the 98q morning show, cuz that's what we're discussing here. And refresh my memory..Who is it who has been following Paul Walker Jr around Radio-Info questioning him as to why he's been participating on so many different boards? Do you remember? Let me help. The answer is YOU!! OH SNAP!
 
I've never listened to 98Q (I can't get it where I am). I'm not on a computer during the times the morning show is on but I'm listening to it right now. I'm happy that I found these message boards. It's a real inside look on the innerworkings of the industry.

Let's see Jordy. I was employed on-air in CT for years unlike the person you are referring to. I don't go to boards in states I never worked in and spew about people/companies I have never worked for or pretend I know all the answers. Secondly, I still have many close ties as most of my closest friends work in CT radio. AND I am a CT resident.

Unlike you, I don't need to repeatedly hammer air-talents to feel better about myself...And I guarantee you I will be on the air in Connecticut for a bit in the next 10 days. Hopefully you can comment to help ease your insecurities.

to answer your question..yes i do only give my critiques on their singing...b/c being a classically trained opera singer myself, that's all i give my opinon on ...there was a big to do about that this past season b/c of mandeesa...i stood up for the girl b/c she's a big girl and she did damn good on that show....they would NEVER think of letting someone of size on that show..and i believe it should be about the talent, not the way they look....i NEVER made comments about their appearence, the way they talk..nothing...just their singing and their performance...

and u say you goof on ppl..well goofing on someone and blasing their career and personal traits are two different things...i hope i answered your question Jordan....

Ok cavey, glad to see you have rationalized things to justify your actions regarding Paul... And you still have yet to comment once on the topic of this thread. Do you have an opinion of 98q mornings or are you just here to flame the fire? I look forward to hearing you on the air in the next 10 days. Where might we hear you and when? I'll even start a brand new thread titled "cavey, welcome home, we missed you".. That will ease my deepest darkest insecurities.

If I don't like a DJ or their show, I change the channel...it's simple.

I will be at WRKI one day next week. Not sure which.

Then say goodnight Gracie, thanks for bringing nothing to the table..When I listen to the radio and form an opinion of a jock, I'm usually doing the Matthew MCconaughey thing complete with bongos. As far as the DJ underoos goes, that sounds like something you boys down in Savannah might do, but if it makes the experience more enjoyable I might just give it a whirl...Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

As far as 98q goes; way too vanilla for me. Doesn't mean they suck, I'm not their demo.

Guys, I don't understand all of this macho bickering. What started out as a post regarding a talent vacuum, has turned into an ugly tit for tat exchange between 2 preening ego's. Cant we all agree that radio is big enough to accomadate all opinoins?. By the way stay tuned, I will have some information forthcoming regarding my next job. if all goes well I could very well be the new morning man on Al jezarah radio. ( radio station 987-04667ty, Kuwait) I dont want to say too much in fear of jinxing myself. Stay tuned
