From about midnight to currently 12:35am...98Q's been off the air. Been picking up KJoy from Long Island. What's the deal? Someone not pay the electric bill?

More likely a power outage.

98Q returned to the top of the heap in the overall ratings, which would indicate someone might actually miss it if it went away! Being off the air for a period after midnight may very well mean equipment maintenance. There was a time not so long ago when many stations would routinely sign off at 12:00 or 1:00 AM. Radio wasn't always the 24/7 business we take for granted today.

On Sunday they were off for about 40 minutes around 2pm.....In this day stations shouldnt lose transmission like this.

The weather on Sunday was nasty. Maybe 98-Q got zapped. Some parts of the state were hit harder than others.

Remember the old statement, "if it can happen, it will happen".

Stations can go off the air for a number of reason, some of which can be beyond their control. And no matter how many backups to backups you put in, things can STILL fail. It's a fact of life. If a station broadcasts 61,320 hours per year but is off 10 hours, think of that percentage! Thats still a over 90% on air time.

Just because WDAQ or whoever goes off for 40 minutes, unless you know the situation behind the outage, you really can't comment about it. And that's the truth.
